Täterinnen - A piece about good girls and Nazi grannies

Ein Projekt des Theaterjugendclubs am Landestheater Tübingen, des Frauentheaters Purpur und der Geschichtswerkstatt Tübingen.

The History Workshop Tübingen e.V. was the co-organizer of the play "perpetrators. A play about good girls and Nazi grandmas, which was performed in 2016 at the Landestheater Tübingen (LTT) and dealt with female perpetrators under National Socialism and today's right-wing scene. The project brought together an unusual mixture of actors: the Theaterjugendclub am LTT (tjc), which consists mainly of pupils, the Frauentheater Purpur, whose members were between 50 and 90 years old, and the History Workshop Tübingen e.V. This resulted in an exciting cooperation between young and old on the topics of women, violence, National Socialism and right-wing radicalism today.

The History Workshop worked on the project in many ways: For example, they gave their expertise about individual local Nazi perpetrators included in the play, such as the Tübingen racial anthropologist Sophie Ehrhardt (1902-1990) or the former "Reich Women's Leader" Gertrud Scholtz-Klink (1902-1999), who lived in Bebenhausen near Tübingen after the end of the war. Members of the history workshop also offered the two theater groups an overview of the local history of National Socialism and the Tübingen perpetrators with a historical city tour. In addition, the history workshop not only financially supported the theater project itself, but also successfully applied for project funding from the State Centre for Civic Education Baden-Württemberg.
